How to fit a daypack in under five minutes
Most daypacks that feel “off” are the wrong torso length, not the wrong brand. Here is the quick test we do at the store.

Measure from the bump at the base of your neck to the top of your hip bones. That is your torso length, and it matters more than your height.
Load the pack with about ten pounds. Cinch the hip belt over your hip bones, not your waist, then snug the shoulder straps and the load lifters until the weight sits on your hips.
The sternum strap should land a couple of inches below your collarbone. If the straps dig in, size up; if the pack sways, size down. Or bring it by; we’ll do this with you.
