WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT
Build a website for what comes next.
Avenier plans websites around the people who use them and the teams who manage them—then designs, builds, launches, and supports the experience.
Built for growing businesses, nonprofits, and public-serving organizations.

BEFORE THE INTERFACE
Four things a website has to line up.
Before design begins, we work out who visits, what they need to do, and who keeps the content current. Visitors get a direct path to your services, an experience that works for more people, and a site with room to grow.
TWO WAYS TO START
A website should prepare the organization, not just replace the old interface.
Many website projects start with pages and features. The friction usually sits underneath: unclear audiences, scattered content, and no named owner for what changes next.
A COMMON STARTING POINT
Begins with pages, visual preferences, and a feature list.
- Starts from the existing site map
- Decides content, design, and technology separately
- Treats launch as the finish line
- Sorts out ownership and updates later
What can happen: A polished new interface that inherits the same organizational friction.
THE AVENIER APPROACH
Begins with the people and the work the website must support.
- Starts from audiences, services, and ownership
- Aligns content, design, and engineering before build
- Gives your team a foundation it can maintain
- Leaves room for new services and connections
What follows: A useful website today, with room for the organization to evolve.
THE SHIFTUnderstand before designing
DESIGNED FOR CHANGE
A website should not lock the organization into one moment.
We structure content, templates, and connections so common changes—a new service, a new form, a new editor—do not mean starting over.

Add a new service without rebuilding the site.
Connect a form to an operational workflow.
Give an internal team clear publishing control.
ACROSS EVERY SCREEN
One site, built for every screen.
From first look to next step, we design websites that make information easy to find and action easy to take, on a desktop, a tablet, or a phone.

Concept disclosureNorthline is a fictional demonstration built to show one design responding across devices. It is not client work or reported results.
AFTER LAUNCH
Built for the people who visit—and the team who runs it.
A website has two audiences after launch: the people who arrive at it, and the team who keeps it current.
FOR YOUR VISITORS
- Find the right service without hunting through menus.
- Read and act on any screen, with accessibility considered from the start.
FOR YOUR TEAM
- Update the content they own without a rebuild.
- Add new services and pages as the organization changes.
WHAT A WEBSITE ENGAGEMENT CAN INCLUDE
Discovery and structure
Audiences, content, workflows, and ownership, organized into a site structure.
Design
The experience, layout, and content approach for every screen.
Development
A maintainable build, with the editing setup your team needs.
Launch
Testing, content migration planning, and a handoff to your team.
Continued improvement
Support and refinements as priorities change.
Scope and sequence are set with you once we understand the site and the team behind it. See how we work
AVENIER LAB
Exploring what a website can make possible.
Two concept studies, each starting from how an organization works and ending in a connected website.
Independent concept studiesAvenier Lab concept studies are independently created to demonstrate our approach. They are not commissioned client work or reported client results.
Solid Ground Initiative
Supporters need to find the mission, understand the ask, and give without hunting across pages.
Design decisions
- Mission before the askThe homepage opens on the work and the people it serves before it invites a gift.
- One story, mission to giftEach page leads to the next step, so giving feels like part of the story.
Down Da By-Ya
Guests need to find the menu, understand the visit, and reserve a table.
Design decisions
- Visit details up frontThe menu, hours, and reservations sit one step from the homepage.
- A voice that sounds like the roomSouth Louisiana tone carries through the headlines, menu, and calls to action.
QUESTIONS
Questions before we begin
A few practical answers about building and supporting a website with Avenier.
The timeline depends on the size of the site, the content that needs to be created, the features involved, and how quickly decisions and feedback can be made. A focused website may take several weeks, while a larger site with custom functionality or multiple stakeholders will take longer. During discovery, we’ll define the scope and give you a realistic schedule with clear milestones before development begins.
We begin by understanding your organization, your audience, and what the website needs to accomplish. From there, we align on priorities, plan the structure and content, design the experience, build and test the site, and prepare your team for launch. You’ll know what decisions are coming, what we’re working on, and how each phase supports the outcome you’re after.
We’ll need your team’s knowledge, feedback, and approval at key points, especially during discovery, content review, and design decisions. We’ll identify a primary point of contact, clarify responsibilities early, and organize requests so your team knows what’s needed and when. Our goal is to make participation manageable while keeping the final website grounded in how your organization actually works.
Yes. A website often needs to connect with the tools your organization already uses, such as forms, customer relationship systems, scheduling platforms, payment services, or internal software. We’ll review the available integrations, data flows, and technical constraints during discovery, then recommend an approach that fits your needs. Where an off-the-shelf connection falls short, we can evaluate a custom solution.
Launch is the start of operating your website, not the end of our involvement. We can help with updates, fixes, performance improvements, and ongoing changes as your needs evolve. During planning, we’ll discuss hosting, access, backups, software updates, and security responsibilities, then define the level of post-launch support that makes sense for your organization. Any continuing support arrangement and its scope will be agreed on separately.
You may not need a full rebuild. We’ll assess what is working, where visitors or staff encounter friction, and whether the current platform can support your goals. Sometimes targeted improvements are the right next step; other times a rebuild offers a better foundation. We’ll explain the tradeoffs and recommend a path based on your needs, budget, and long-term plans.
